About Claire

I am an Australian artist and designer based on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada.

I weave the whimsy of my island life into my work, incorporating the local flora and fauna in my characteristic style. 

I work with illustration and graphic design clients to realise their project requirements and visual identities - both digital and in print. 

I was a producer on the 2018 short film Cascadia, a fantasy adventure that premiered at the Lucid Dream Film Festival in Italy. I am also the co-creator and producer of Snug. In May 2019, my screenplay Lucid was short-listed in Cinevic’s CineSpark screenplay competition, and after a fierce live pitch-battle, we won first place and a prize package to produce the film. Lucid went on to screen at film festivals worldwide, and a feature based on the short is currently in production.

I am well known for my much loved (prehistoric!) blog loobylu.com for which I have won many awards and accolades. I am also known for my iconic illustrations for the Truly Tan series, written by Jen Storer for Harper Collins Australia.

I work digitally but also in traditional media: watercolours, paper-cutting, ceramics and textiles.
